It achieved a solid 150mbps in a large file transfer, which I thought was only possible in a theoretical lab setting. All I can say is WOW! I couldn't believe the data rates upon conducting a computer-to-computer test. Sensing that the frequency range had become the bottleneck for the Asus, which is clearly stronger than my older routers, I took a chance on this bargain-priced 5GHz adapter. My older RNX-N150 (a 150mbps 2.4GHz adapter) and the RNX-250 (a 300mbps 2.4GHz adapter) provided identical performance - 16mbps with an 802.11g router, about 24mpbs with a Rosewill 300n router, and 32mbps on my current router, the Asus RT-N56U router, which is a strong dual-band router. The 5GHz band made all the difference for me in my crowded 802.11n 2.4GHz environment (with at least 15 other signals at all times). Pros: This is my third Rosewill 802.11n adapter, and it is really in a class by itself.
